Student FAQ's
How do I choose the right pigments for various
skin tones and types?
Educating yourself on pigmentology and colourants will help you have a better understanding of how different
formulations implant and heal in the skin, across multiple different skin tones. Always refer to colour
charts, CI numbers on the bottles and invest in education such as the Science Behind the Ink online course
with Perma U.
How do I know what needles are compatible with my
machine?
This will depend on the PMU machine you are using. If you or your trainer have purchased it from Killer
Beauty, it is likely that the device is compatible with all universal cartridges. However, you can contact
us on [email protected] and we can confirm for you.
What do I need to power my PMU machine?
The rotary machines we sell typically do not come with a wire & power supply, so these will need to be
purchased separately. Always check the technical specifications on the product page to choose the correct
wire and power supply. Wireless machines do come with wireless batteries and we also have some wireless
power supply options available.
What are the potential hazards linked with
permanent makeup procedures, and how can they be minimised?
Adverse reactions are extremely rare but ensuring that you use only high-quality, fully tested and reputable
permanent makeup brands will make your treatments as safe as possible. That is why we only stock products
from established and trusted PMU brands.
How do I ensure proper sanitation and
sterilisation during procedures to prevent issues?
Hygiene and safety should always be covered in your training, but keeping your clinic fully stocked
of all cleaning and disinfecting products, PPE, protective covers and disposables will help you keep your
workspace sterile and safe. You can shop our extensive range here.
How can I stay updated on the latest trends,
techniques, and regulations in the permanent makeup industry?
Make sure you subscribe to our newsletter and follow our social media channels, @killerbeautypmu. Our
YouTube channel and blog are also incredible resources for anyone starting out in PMU - with plenty of
advice, free education and more.
