As part of our mission to make the permanent makeup world more inclusive than ever, we’re thrilled to announce the release of Perma Blend LUXE’s (and the industry’s) first ever pigment set dedicated to creating brows on melanin-rich clients!

This dreamy set of 6 bottles was made in collaboration with Pro Artist Amina Sadiq from The Brow and Lash Studio and contains a selection of six versatile pigments that are designed for use on darker skin tones.



What are the biggest challenges to melanin-rich skin?

Undoubtedly one of the biggest issues we face as PMU artists working on darker skin tones is that our pigments need to be warmer than usual in order to create desired results and resist fading into ashy tones.

Permanent makeup is implanted below the skin, which means that the colour of the healed result is the pigment as it appears behind the filter of skin - the darker your filter, the harder it may be for the colour to show through. That’s why colour theory and pigmentology is so important when tackling melanin-rich skin.

Other ways that darker skin can vary include a greater number and size of sebaceous glands which produce oil, the denser collagen fibres that lead to a thicker dermal layer, and a higher tendency to scar thanks to that extra collagen.

However, it’s important to note that while these are generally truthful, not all melanin-rich skin is oilier or thicker - you should always address the specific needs of your client’s skin, no matter what colour it is.



Who is Amina Sadiq?

Known as the Queen of Brows, Las Vegas-based Amina Sadiq is a pro-team artist for Perma Blend who has been mentoring and teaching brow techniques based on more than 7 years of experience in the industry! As PMU royalty, Amina inspires us every day - not least in her goal to create a better way for artists to service their melanin-rich clients!

What is the Chocolate Collection?

The Chocolate Collection is a set of six pigments which range from cool to dark, supported by a colour chart that easily explains what pigments are included in each ink, and how much. And best of all, they have been created with the 100% EU REACH compliant LUXE formulation – meaning they can be used by artists all over the world!

Cocoa Bean is the darkest pigment, presenting as a cool, deep espresso brown with hybrid pigments and low opacity; Sinnamon Swirl is a toasted brown colour with hybrid pigments and medium opacity; Fondue is a deep, melted-chocolate brown tone with hybrid pigments and medium opacity; Maple Sugar is a warm coffee brown with just a hint of milk; Honey Brown has glazed and golden warm amber tones with a high opacity; and finally Ganache has smooth, velvety dark chocolate tones with low opacity and a neutral undertone.
