PMU Trends for 2025
2025 promises an exciting year for the permanent makeup industry, with a shift towards natural results, flawless skin prep, and smarter approaches to removal. To stay ahead, it’s essential to keep informed on the latest trends and best products.
To help you continue investing in your PMU education and stay ahead of the curve, we’ve created this helpful blog about the PMU trends we predict will be huge in 2025!
Soft & Airy Brows
More and more, clients are seeking soft and natural brows. Whether through the machine or microblading technique, we have the perfect sets to help you achieve light, airy, and understated brow looks for your clients:
The FADE set from Tina Davies is a collection of 8 permanent makeup pigments that have been designed to fade gently over time. The fade you achieve will depend on the technique you use, such as how much pressure you apply when implanting pigment, and the individual client, including their skin tone and skin type.

The pigments have a hybrid formula but as the formula is made with more inorganic ingredients than organic, they are more inorganic-based pigments which provides a softer look that fades more gently. This makes them perfect for clients who don’t want to commit to a long-term PMU look and can make changes based on the ongoing trends.
The PMU pigments in the set can be used alone or mixed with other pigments in the collection to create custom shades and looks for your clients.
The Ombre Brows Set was created in collaboration with Perma Blend and Paulina Osinkowska as part of the EU REACH-compliant Perma Blend LUXE range!

The set contains six pigments designed specifically to help artists create stunning Ombre brows and powder brows! With the pigment shades categorised into light, medium, and dark and numbered 01-06, colour choice for artists has been simplified.
The pigments also offer seamless blending, easy application, and an ultra-blendable formula helping you create natural looking gradients with minimal effort!

Skin Prep for a Flawless Canvas
Great results, including pigment longevity, and minimal trauma start with great skin preparation. You can offer your clients some pre-care tips to help ensure their skin is fully prepared for their PMU treatment, including avoiding alcohol and caffeine and direct sun exposure.

There are also some great skin prep products that can help ensure smooth, hydrated skin for perfect pigment application:
Hustle Butter Deluxe is more than just an aftercare product and can be used before, during, and after permanent makeup procedures!
It’s petroleum-free and made with skin-loving, nourishing, naturally-derived, and vegan ingredients. When used before treatment, it can moisturise the skin and help ensure optimal pigment implantation.
Plus, it smells amazing thanks to the shea butter, coconut oil, and mango seed butter!

Starting Fresh with PMU Removal
PMU removal is the process of eliminating or lightening old permanent makeup pigment still present in the skin. For clients who’ve had multiple treatments over several years and experienced saturation, or who’ve had PMU in the past before recent advances in chemistry and technology, PMU removal may be the most suitable option.

There are a few methods for removing permanent makeup, such as laser removal, chemical and saline removal.
Laser removal involves using targeted light beams to break down the pigment in the skin. Chemical or saline removal involves using a tattoo machine and cartridge to implant a saline or chemical solution into the skin to lift and expel pigment particles. The solution interacts with the pigment causing it to rise to the surface so it can be shed naturally.
The Li-FT Pigment Lightening Solution is one of the safest, most effective PMU lightening and removal products currently on the market. It’s a saline solution that contains all-natural ingredients including:
- Lemon and orange seed extracts for combined fading and exfoliation.
- Aloe Barbadensis for soothing and health healing.
- Calendula extract for its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Please note, to use Li-FT on your clients, you must complete the Li-FT Saline Lightening Training Course. Watch our video with Becci Gibbons to find out more about the training needed!
As we step into 2025, the world of PMU continues to evolve, with trends shifting towards softer, more natural aesthetics, advanced skin prep techniques, and a growing focus on PMU removal for a fresh start.
