PSA: REACH compliant inorganic pigments are here!
The mother and daughter team at Li Pigments have created several incredible ranges of PMU pigments, including the new EU REACH-suitable versions of your favourite inorganic pigments!
These are some of the first inorganic pigments that can be used throughout the EU, and even if you’re exempt from REACH regulations, these are staples in so many permanent makeup artist’s kits.
Li Pigments
Darlene Story has been working on pigment creation since 1992, working with professional chemists, and was later joined by her daughter Mytia who brought her biology degree and intensive research into the biomechanical aspects of pigments to the company!
Together, they’ve combined colour theory and knowledge about pigment application to create scientifically-backed pigments with the safety, quality and cost you’d expect!
Why use inorganic pigments?
You can read all about the difference between Organic vs Inorganic Pigments, but the basic difference you need to know is that inorganic pigments are made from natural minerals such as iron oxide and titanium oxide. These have larger particles, which might mean they need additional passes to saturate properly but can produce a softer, more subtle result.
Inorganic pigments also fade a little faster than organic, and tend to fade to warmer or earthy tones. A faster fading process is ideal for clients who don’t want to commit to a permanent, bold look, and those who are going for a more natural appearance!
Don’t be tempted to use inorganic pigments with a heavier hand, or try to do too many passes - the beauty of inorganic pigments is that it fades and can be redone or adjusted! This formula is perfect for beginners, nervous clients or any artists who love a soft, powdery result.
Aqua Global
These super concentrated inorganic permanent makeup pigments have a smooth and creamy base that makes them the perfect solution for a wide variety of skin types, in a solution that’s suitable for both microblading and machine methods!
With the newly reformulated Global collection, Li Pigments has taken its highly concentrated water-based formula and made it perfect for use in the EU! Each of the pigments in the Aqua Global range can be used alone or mixed together to get the perfect shade.
Monica Ivani Signature Series
This set of brow pigments, made in collaboration with expert PMU artist Monica Ivani, contains four shades considered essential by the world-famous eyebrow artist and PMU teacher. These are amongst some of the best-selling pigments within the Li range, so we’re sure the EU artists will be excited to stock up.
These pre-mixed pigments are ready to use straight from the bottle, or can be mixed together to create lighter or darker tones. They can be bought individually, or in a set that includes a colour chart with everything you need to know about each pigment!
Whether you’re a beginner in permanent makeup looking for the most forgiving pigments available, or an experienced artist who wants their PMU to be a little less permanent, inorganic pigments are the ones for you!
Many brands within the PMU space are increasing their offerings to the EU market and at Killer Beauty, we aim to bring these REACH compliant launches to our European artists as quickly as we can. We are all about offering artists maximum choice, to ensure you can find the right pigments and tools for you and your clients!
