The Best PMU Pigments 2024
If you're looking for the best permanent makeup pigments, we have a huge selection for you to choose from!
Whether you're an established, experienced technician, or just setting out on your PMU career after a successful training course, we've got the perfect pigment for your work!
Ready, Set, Go Pre-Modified Set
First up from our favourite brand of EU REACH-compatible pigments is this set of 5 pigments with one modifier which really takes the guesswork out of finding the right shade!
Each pigment in the Ready, Set, Go set is pre-modified to reduce unwanted tones in the finished, healed result. They are highly pigmented, with half of the shades made with high opacity to allow you to use it directly for correction work, and boast incredible colour retention which heal stable and true.
The Ready, Set, Go set features Ready Blonde, which is a neutral-to-warm brown with high opacity; Ready Ash, which is a neutral-to-cool ash brown with high opacity; Ready Medium, a neutral medium brown with high opacity; Ready Dark, a neutral-to-cool leaning dark brown with medium opacity; Ready Darkest, a cool-leaning darker brown with medium to high opacity; and finally Ready Mod, a warming modifier with low opacity.
Every purchase of the Ready, Set, Go set comes with a free colour chart and an exclusive Perma U course on using the included pigments, making it perfect for both brow veterans and newer PMU artists.
Next up from Perma Blend LUXE is the Microblading Pro Set, which has been specifically designed for - you guessed it - microblading! Created for incredible needle retention and long-lasting results, the easy-to-use pump bottle ensures you can access the microblading inks easily, with less chance of spilling or contaminating the rest of the bottle.
This set of six shades is made to cover all client skin and hair tones, is made with a combination of organic and inorganic pigments, and has a high-viscosity consistency that’s designed for the slower techniquw microblades as opposed to needle cartridges.
All Night Long is a super cool, black-brown hybrid pigment that’s ideal for melanin-rich skin; Taupe Notch is a versatile light brown hybrid pigment with cool undertones and medium opacity; Have Your Cake is a mid-range brown ink with neutral undertones and medium opacity; Spill The Tea is a mid-range brown with cool red undertones and low opacity; Clay All Day is an earthy warm brown with medium opacity; and the star of the show is Glow Up, a warm yellow modifier with low opacity.
Just like Ready, Set, Go, the Microblading Pro Set comes with a colour chart to make selecting your shades easier, and access to a free online course with Perma U.
Heading back to PMU pigments for use with a permanent makeup machine, the Tina Davies I Love Ink Eyebrow Collection is the newly reformulated, EU REACH-compliant version of the much-loved existing set.
This collection contains seven bottles of pigment along with one bottle of Shading Solution that can be used to dilute other pigments or to reduce their opacity for shading purposes. Those seven pigments include Bolder Brown, which had been reformulated from the previous I Love Ink set for higher opacity and a more neutral undertone.
Ash Brown is a classic neutral-cool medium ash brown pigment for ash-based eyebrows on clients with Fitzpatrick 1-3 skin tones; Grey is a sophisticated grey colour that heals to a medium-to-dark grey, ideal on Fitzpatrick 1-3 tones; Blonde is the perfect warm blonde pigment for use on cool-toned clients with Fitzpatrick 1-2 tones; Medium Brown is a balanced rich brown with a natural tone for clients with Fitzpatrick 1-3 tones; Dark Brown is a neutral/warm dark brown pigment for Fitzpatrick tones up to 4; Bolder Brown, as described above, is designed for Fitzpatrick skin tones 3-5; and finally Ebony, a cool black-brown which works best on clients with Fitzpatrick tones 4-6.
Rescue and Recover
Two incredible sets from Perma Blend LUXE with distinct purposes: the Rescue Mini Set has three pigments designed for colour correction in faded brows, while the Recover Mini Set has three toners to counteract undertones & promote neutral, natural healing of your client’s brows.
Recover contains the Green Juice toner, designed to counteract unwanted red and orange tones; Golden Pear for neutralising blue and purple tones; and the rich copper-toned Pretty Penny is for neutralising green and blue tones.
The Rescue Set has a warm Ginger corrector for brows that have faded to red and orange tones; the tropical-inspired Papaya for brows that have faded to blue and purple; and Limoncello, which is a very bright yellow also designed for mitigating blue and purple tones.
Sculpted Studios is a company that combines the effort of two incredible artists - the queen of lips Carla Ricciardone and scalp micropigmentation expert Stevey G. Both Stevey and Carla have built a name for themselves within the field, particularly for their ground-breaking Sculpted colour theory – which their sets have been created for.
Carla Ricciardone introduces the Embody and Enhance sets of lip pigments. Embody is the ideal solution for lip neutralisation treatments, containing seven modifying pigments and a shading solution. Each of the pigments can be used alone, mixed together or mixed with Enhance pigments, which contains seven lip tones as well as a shading solution. This set contains minimal titanium dioxide and can be used for all neutralisations – from warmer, brown tones all the way up to very cool blue or purples.
Created using Carla’s signature Sculpted Colour Theory, she has spent over 4 years formulating, developing and testing these sets – to ensure the best results possible. If you’re struggling with lip tattooing or you want a pigment that is going to heal and look neutral and flattering long-term, these are the sets for you!
Stevey G’s Reclaim and Restore sets are dedicated to the art of SMP. Reclaim is designed for shaved-head effect treatments, with five black pigments that are pre-modified so you can always find the right undertone for your client, while Restore is for hair density procedures which are popular on both male and female clients. Both the Reclaim and Restore sets are finished off with the Adjust shading solution and these pigments promote long-lasting, hype realistic results.
These scalp sets also come with a skin tone and hair colour chart that allows you to easily identify your client’s undertones and utilise the Sculpted Colour Theory, to choose the right pigments for your clients and say goodbye to those scalp disasters of the past.
Evenflo pigments are made in collaboration with the fantastic Lulu Sicilano, who is also one of the founders behind Microbeau!
The Blonde 2 Brunette Set was Evenflo’s first EU REACH-compliant set, and is made up of four blonde and brown pigments that can be used on all Fitzpatrick skin tones. These shades are hybrid and made with a combination of organic and inorganic ingredients, allowing the pigment to be implanted into the skin easily and fade gradually to a neutral tone, and while they’re pre-modified they can also be mixed together and with other PMU pigments.
The set contains Rubia, which is a warm, golden brown with honey yellow undertones; Morena is an intensely dark brown that verges on black; Castaña is a classic dark brown that can also be used to darken other pigments; and Bonita is a medium brown with cool undertones.
And finally, another excellent set from Lulu Siciliano - the True Lips set contains six bottles of lip pigment in a formula that’s EU REACH-compliant. The unique thing about True Lips are the stunning mauve undertones within the pigment selection and the unisex colour selection!
Made with high quality ingredients and a hybrid formula, these pigments contribute towards incredible healed results, with a selection of shades from deep to light. They have a very high pigment load for a vibrant finish, but can be diluted and mixed with other shades.
Dirty French is a unisex, earthy shade with neutral undertones and a natural finish; Rock Rose is an elegant dusty pink shade with subtle cool undertones; Divanizer is a powdery lilac with cool undertones for a natural, nude lip; Naturalista is a unisex cinnamon shade; Romance is pink with a neutral undertone, that can be used to balance darker lip colours; and Royal Mauve is a lilac brown shade with a subtle cool undertone that’s great for men and women.
